Geeta
Ashram, Minneapolis was founded in October, 1972, when His Holiness Shri
Swami Hari Har Ji Maharaj visited the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St.
Paul. His discourse on the Bhagavad Geeta provided a valuable insight into
how this holy text could help us all in loving one another and perform our
duties. Regular Geeta Satsangs started at the residences of members. These
included Kirtans, Bhajans, recitation of Chapter 12 and a short discourse
by one of the devotees until The Geeta Ashram facility was built in 1987
in Brooklyn Park. Regular Satsangs are now held at Geeta Ashram, Brooklyn
Park. Geeta Ashram can accommodate 300-400 people
comfortably. It has an auditorium which can accommodate 300 people .Today
the Ashram
hosts cultural events, festivals, weddings, religious forums and
other community events.
